About Department
The Department of Music of Jamshedpur Women’s University offers Undergraduate (B.A. Hons.) and Post- Graduation (M.A) in Hindustani Vocal Music. The Department provides training in style of singing like Khayal, Thumri, Darda, Ghazals, Sugam Sangeet and Folk through its planned and innovative courses which enables the students to reveal their versatility. The Department focuses on innovative teaching methods which is the benchmarks of the academic curriculum. The thrust of the Department and faculty is value based training and learning of traditional music focusing on creative abilities and excellence in performance.
