About Department

The department of Political Science, under the faculty of Social Sciences, was established in1960 as one of the earliest departments of the then Jamshedpur Women’s college.

Working with this aim the Department has been offering six semesters Under-graduate BA (Hons.) in Political Science and four semesters Post-graduate MA Courses in Political Science under the choice-based credit system (CBCS) guidelines since 2016 and 2017 respectively. Since 2022 the under graduation course will follow the Four Years Under graduation Programme( FYUGP) as recommended by the NEP2020 with interdisciplinary and wide ranging course contents. The objective of the curriculum designed in the department is to expose its students to all branches of the discipline.
