About National Service Scheme
NSS is a fundamental sector scheme of the government of India under Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports. It was launched in 1969 by the then Union minister on September 24.The scheme was introduced in 37 universities across all States involving 40,000 students. It is a voluntary association of young people in college and universities who work to create a link between campus and the community. Its primary goal is to develop the character and personality of students through community service.It is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and aims to practice National integration and social harmony.

Mission
The moto of NSS "Not Me Bur You" reflects teg essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service. NSS helps students develop appreciation to others point of view and also show consideration to other living beings.
