About National Cadet Corps

The National Cadet Corps was commenced in the year of 2007 in Jamshedpur Women’s University.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the India Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organization, which recruits cadets from high school, higher secondary, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and drill. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course.

The National Cadet Corps Act, 1948

Act to provide for the constitution of a National Cadet Corps WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the constitution of a NCC.

Motto

Its MOTTO is “Unity and Discipline”, In living up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and molding them into united and disciplined citizens of the nation. .

NCC Social Service Activities

Beside of 3 years prescribed essential training camps and B & C examinations (conducted by Ministry of Defense) the cadets of the army wing of Jamshedpur Womens’ University are also participating in following Social Service and community Development activities every year:-

  • Tree Plantation.
  • Blood Donation Camp.
  • Swach Bharat Abhiyan.
  • International Yoga Day.
  • Har Ghar Tiranga
  • Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (rallies & poster makings)
  • Kargil Vijay Diwas
  • Pulse Polio Duty
  • Scholarship Program (anchoring & culture dance)
  • Anti–Tabacco Day (Nukkad Natak)
  • Durga Puja Duty
  • Run-a-thon by Tata Steel (volunteering of NCC cadets)

Admission Procedure

National cadet corps welcomes the entry of volunteer students of JAMSHEDPUR WOMEN'S UNIVERSITY.

Eligibility

  • Student of 1st year of UG (1st /2nd Semester).
  • Physical standard should meet the requirement.

Offline Application Date

  • Offline Application released between July and August.

Documents Required

  • Admission Slip of 1st/2nd Semester Only.
  • ID Proof (Adhar Card Mandatory)

Parameters of Admission

  • Entrance Test.
  • Physical Test.
  • Interview.
  • Selection by Battalion Members.
