The National Cadet Corps was commenced in the year of 2007 in Jamshedpur Women’s University.
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the India Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organization, which recruits cadets from high school, higher secondary, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and drill. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course.
Act to provide for the constitution of a National Cadet Corps WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the constitution of a NCC.
Its MOTTO is “Unity and Discipline”, In living up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and molding them into united and disciplined citizens of the nation. .
Beside of 3 years prescribed essential training camps and B & C examinations (conducted by Ministry of Defense) the cadets of the army wing of Jamshedpur Womens’ University are also participating in following Social Service and community Development activities every year:-
