The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by Honourable
Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015 to outline a methodology to rank institutions
of higher education across India. A Core Committee set up by the MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for
ranking various universities and institutions provided important recommendation for the creation of a national
framework, the NIRF. The framework uses several parameters for ranking like resources, research, and
stakeholder perception. These parameters have been grouped into five clusters namely “Teaching, Learning and
Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and
“Perception”. These clusters were assigned certain weightages. The weightages depend on the nature of the
institution.
As a good ranking is an indicator of institution’s hard work to create a distinguished place in the educational landscape of the
nation, Jamshedpur Women’s University is committed towards this goal by putting continuous efforts towards
fulfilment of the NIRF parameters.
